Pre-K Registration

Pre-K Registration at Deerfield Valley Elementary School

Deerfield Valley Elementary School supports publicly funded Pre Kindergarten for children who are 4 years old and reside in the town of Wilmington.  Pre Kindergarten is defined as developmentally appropriate early learning experiences that are based on Vermont’s Early Learning Standards.  Pre Kindergarten education is limited to the academic school year (September 2012-June 2013).

The full-day Pre-K program at DVES meets:

Monday through Thursday 8:00 am – 2:30 pm

Friday 8:00 am – 11:20 am

  • Children must be four years of age on or before September 1, 2012, in order to register for the Pre-K program.
  • Parents must complete and return a Pre-K Application.  Applications are available at the school office.
  • Parents are encouraged to consider the child’s date of birth, physical maturity, emotional maturity, and prior experiences when making the decision to enroll their child in the Pre-K program.

Admission into the program will be by a non-discriminatory lottery system. Children on an IEP are guaranteed entry by law. Everyone must complete and return an application for Pre-K entry.  Call or stop by the school to get an application. Upon completion of the application a lottery number will be issued to each applicant. All interested families must have their application on file with the school office no later than Friday, May 18, 2012.

Any application received after May 18, 2012 will be placed on the waiting list and will not be eligible to participate in the lottery.
